HIGHLANDS GARDENS. This a beautiful little park in New Barnet that has been neglected. Duncan MacDonald of the Liberal democrats did something about it and asked for volunteers who would be interested in helping to restore the park. Members of the public turned up to a meeting and formed "The Friends of Highlands Gardens" This is a non political organisation and we will be following its progress. On a personal note it is nice that someone from a political party steps forward with an idea for the community, and not just doing it for political gain. HOSPITAL RADIO BARNET a service to the patients and staff of Barnet Hospital. Hospital Radio Barnet was founded in 1978 in a room 12 feet square. In 1993 they opened brand new studios within the new hospital grounds with room for a library, and two brand new studios.They are always looking for volunteers who don’t just want to be the next Chris Evans or Sara Cox, but want to be involved with everything to do with the hospital radio, including fundraising and ward interviewing. If you can spare a few hours of your day or evening, they would love to hear from you.
